Bangor Rams Coach Sees Flag Football as Viable College Pathway

๐Ÿ“ Bangor RamsยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Bangor Rams coach Emily Wilson believes flag football is a legitimate college pathway for her players. With the NCAA's Emerging Sports for Women program adding women's flag football in January 2026, Wilson says her team is taking advantage of the new opportunities. The University of Nebraska, a Power 5 school, has a fully funded Division 1 varsity program. NAIA programs like Ottawa University in Kansas, Keiser University in Florida and Midland University in Nebraska offer active scholarships. UT Arlington, a Texas-based D1 program, is in development. Wilson advises her players to focus on developing their skills, particularly in areas like speed, agility and teamwork. She also encourages them to research and reach out to these programs to explore scholarship opportunities.
