Power Position: A Drilling Ground for Leavitt Hornets OL
As the Leavitt Hornets prepare for the upcoming season, their B program linemen are focusing on building strength and agility through a series of intense drills. One standout exercise is the 'Boxer Shuffle,' a movement-based drill designed to improve footwork and hand placement. OL players will start in a neutral position, then shuffle laterally 5 yards while maintaining a tight, compact stance. Upon reaching the end of the box, they will quickly pivot and return to the starting position. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest in between. Coaches will emphasize proper footwork and hand placement, encouraging players to keep their hands up and eyes on the target. This drill translates to game performance by enhancing linemen's ability to quickly adjust to defensive schemes and maintain a strong, aggressive stance.
