Summer Speed and Agility for Yarmouth Clippers S Players
This summer, S players at the Yarmouth Clippers can improve their speed and agility with a specific drill that mimics game-like scenarios. The 'Shuttle Run with Crossover' drill involves setting up two cones 10 yards apart, with a third cone 5 yards beyond the second cone. Players start at the first cone, then sprint to the second cone, performing a crossover step to change direction. They then accelerate to the third cone, where they perform a quick change of direction drill. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet,' 'aggressive cuts,' and 'explosive acceleration.' This drill translates to game performance by improving S players' ability to quickly close gaps and change direction on the field, making them more effective defenders and ball carriers.
