DeShawn Davis Commits to University of Houston
Bangor Rams safety DeShawn Davis, a Class of 2025 standout, has committed to the University of Houston. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Davis chose the Cougars over other Power Five offers from Oregon State and Iowa State. Houston's defensive coordinator, Doug Ripski, is expected to implement a similar 3-3-5 scheme that Davis' high school coach, Pat Farnham, has utilized in the past. This scheme fit, combined with the opportunity to compete for a starting role, was a major factor in Davis' decision. Additionally, the University of Houston's strong academic program, which offers a range of business and engineering courses, aligns with Davis' academic interests. Davis had previously committed to the University of Maine in November 2023, but reopened his recruitment in January 2026.
