Bangor Rams OL Summer Training Tip: Building a Stronger Anchor

๐Ÿ“ Bangor RamsยทFriday, July 17, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Bangor Rams prepare for the upcoming season, one key area of focus for the offensive line is building a strong anchor in the trenches. To achieve this, the coaching staff has implemented a drill that targets the core strength and stability of the linemen. The 'Plank to Pass' drill involves the linemen starting in a plank position, holding for 30 seconds, and then transitioning into a pass-blocking stance. The sets and reps for this drill are: 3 sets of 3 reps, with a 2-minute rest in between sets. Coaching cues include maintaining a neutral spine, engaging the core, and keeping the chest up. This drill translates to game performance by improving the linemen's ability to absorb contact and maintain a strong base, allowing them to better protect the quarterback.
