Speed and Agility Drill for S Players: 'Ladder Cuts'

๐Ÿ“ Leavitt HornetsยทTuesday, July 28, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Leavitt Hornets are gearing up for a strong season, and their S players are working on developing the quickness and agility needed to stay one step ahead of opponents. One effective drill to improve S players' speed and agility is the 'Ladder Cuts' drill. Set up a ladder on the field, with players starting at one end. On the coach's signal, players must quickly cut through the ladder, changing direction and speed in a zig-zag pattern. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet,' 'change of direction,' and 'explosive acceleration.' This drill translates to game performance by improving S players' ability to rapidly change direction and accelerate to the ball, making them more effective in coverage and pursuit.
