๐Ÿ“ Yarmouth ClippersยทThursday, July 30, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At C programs like the Yarmouth Clippers, running backs need to be prepared for the physicality of high school football. One drill that can help improve RB performance is the 'Bull in the Ring' drill. This drill involves setting up a 10-yard diameter circle with cones or markers, and having the RB perform a series of 3 sets of 5 reps of the following: 3-cone drill, followed by a 1-yard change of direction, and finishing with a 2-yard sprint out of the circle. Coaching cues include: 'Keep your head up and eyes forward,' 'Drive through your legs,' and 'Accelerate out of the turn.' This drill translates to game performance by improving RB agility, explosiveness, and ability to quickly change direction in tight spaces.
