FridayNightPulse: 'Cardinal Cut' Drill for Linebackers at Davison High

๐Ÿ“ Davison CardinalsยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Davison Cardinals linebackers will be tackling the 'Cardinal Cut' drill, a high-intensity workout designed to improve their speed, agility, and tackling technique. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest in between sets. Players will start in a 3-point stance, then quickly change direction and cut to the left and right, mimicking a defender reacting to a ball carrier. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the rapid changes of direction a linebacker will face on the field. By improving their agility and reaction time, Davison's linebackers will be better equipped to make tackles and disrupt opponents' plays.
