Sprint Specialist Drill for S Players at Traverse City Central

Traverse City Central's S players will be putting in extra work this summer with a drill designed to improve their speed and agility. The 'S-Sprint Shuttle' drill involves setting up two cones 10 yards apart, with the S player starting at one cone. On the whistle, they sprint to the second cone, then immediately change direction and sprint back to the first cone, repeating for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'explosive acceleration.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the S player's ability to quickly close gaps and cover sideline-to-sideline. By incorporating this drill into their summer training, the Trojans' S players will be well-prepared for the upcoming season.
