Muskegon Big Reds Girls Flag Football Recruits Target Verified Scholarship Programs
As the MHSAA flag football pilot program expands to new districts in Texas, athletes from the Muskegon Big Reds and other participating teams are eyeing verified scholarship opportunities. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is set to launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028, offering scholarships to top recruits. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse in NAIA flag football, has up to 12 scholarships available. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters in the NAIA. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its NCAA Division 1 program, although scholarships have not yet been announced. For Big Reds recruits, identifying and connecting with these verified programs is crucial for securing scholarships.
