Piloting Precision: Warren De La Salle's QB Drill for Accuracy

๐Ÿ“ Warren De La Salle PilotsยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Warren De La Salle Pilots quarterback coach, Mike Giannone, shares a crucial drill to improve accuracy and decision-making for his top signal-callers. The 'Quick Release' drill focuses on delivering the ball quickly and with proper footwork. Set up five stations with a target at each: one for each foot, one for the 5-yard line, one for the 10-yard line, one for the 15-yard line, and one for a defender. QBs start in the shotgun, take 3-5 steps back, and release the ball to each target. Coaches provide real-time feedback on footwork, dropback, and follow-through. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by forcing QBs to stay calm under pressure, maintain proper mechanics, and deliver the ball quickly to their receivers. It's a must-have for any Div 1 program looking to elevate their QB play.
