Game-Changing CB Drill for Div 2 Programs: The 'Mirror Man' Workout

At Detroit King Crusaders, our secondary coach has developed a drill that takes CB skills to the next level. 'Mirror Man' targets footwork, reaction time, and spatial awareness. Set up cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Have the CB start at one end, then sprint to the first cone, planting their outside foot and mirroring the coach's movements. After 3 sets of 10 reps, switch directions. To increase difficulty, add a defender or a ball carrier. Coaching cues: 'Mirror my steps,' 'Keep your eyes on the coach,' and 'Stay low and agile.' This drill translates to game performance by improving CBs' ability to stay in phase with receivers and react to quick cuts.
