Speed and Agility for S Players: The 'Shuttle Shuffle' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Detroit King CrusadersยทWednesday, July 15, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For S players at Division 2 programs like Detroit King Crusaders, speed and agility are crucial components of their game. To improve these skills, we recommend the 'Shuttle Shuffle' drill. This drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. The drill starts with the player at the 5-yard line, who then shuffles laterally 5 yards to the sideline, then back to the 5-yard line, and finally sprints 10 yards downfield. The coaching cue is to 'keep the feet low and the weight back' during the shuffle phase. This drill translates to game performance by improving the player's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate downfield, allowing them to cover more ground and stay with receivers.
