Eden Prairie's cornerbacks are gearing up for the 2026 season with a focus on quickness and agility. To improve their reaction time and ball skills, the Eagles will be running a 'Shuttle-Box' drill this summer. The drill consists of three sets of 10 reps: 1) Start at the 5-yard line, sprint to the 10-yard line, and back to the 5-yard line (20-yard shuttle). 2) From the 5-yard line, jump over a small hurdle and catch a pass from a coach or teammate. 3) From the 5-yard line, quickly change direction and chase a coach or teammate who is throwing a pass. Coaching cues include 'explosive start,' 'stay low,' and 'eyes on the ball.' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time, agility, and the ability to quickly change direction on the field.
