Speed and Agility for the 6A Gridiron: Eden Prairie Eagles' S Players Get Ready
At the start of the 2026 season, the Eden Prairie Eagles' S players are gearing up for a high-intensity campaign in the 6A division. To improve their speed and agility, the coaching staff has incorporated a dynamic drill into their summer training regimen. The 'Ladder and Cones Shuttle' drill is designed to enhance quickness, acceleration, and deceleration. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest in between each set. Players start in a 3-point stance, then dash through a ladder, followed by a cone weave. As they exit the cones, they immediately pivot and repeat the sequence in the opposite direction. Coaching cues emphasize proper footwork, explosive acceleration, and controlled deceleration. This drill translates to game performance by allowing S players to quickly change direction and cover more ground on the field.
