Isaiah Thompson Commits to Army Football
Elk River Elks running back Isaiah Thompson, a Class of 2025 standout, has committed to Army football. The 6A backfield prospect cited Army's triple-option offense as a key factor in his decision, feeling it aligns with his skills and playing style. With Army's depth chart at running back, Thompson believes he can contribute immediately and gain valuable experience. Additionally, Army's strong academic program, which offers a range of engineering and STEM fields, appealed to Thompson's academic interests. Thompson previously considered offers from several Power Five conferences but ultimately chose to commit to Army in June. He attended Army's summer camp, where he impressed coaches with his speed, agility and vision. Thompson is expected to enroll at Army in the fall of 2025 and join the Black Knights' backfield for the 2026 season.
