FridayNightPulse Training Tip: LB Agility Ladder Drill for Wayzata Trojans
At 6A powerhouses like Wayzata, linebackers need to be agile and explosive to stay with the fastest running backs in the state. This agility ladder drill will help develop the quickness and footwork needed to cover more ground on the field. Set up 5-6 agility ladders in a zig-zag pattern, with a cone at the end of each ladder. Have the LB start at one end and weave through the ladders, focusing on quick footwork and keeping their eyes up. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the LB's ability to change direction quickly and stay in position to make tackles. By incorporating this drill into their pre-season training, Wayzata Trojans linebackers will be ready to take on the best of the best.
