Elk River Elks Flag Football Prospects Eye Nebraska's 2028 Inaugural Season
As the 2026-27 school year approaches, the Elk River Elks flag football team is gearing up for a strong season. For seniors and underclassmen alike, the University of Nebraska's 2028 inaugural season is a significant development. Coached by Liz and Katie Sowers, the Cornhuskers will offer NCAA Division 1 flag football scholarships. For Elk River prospects, this means concrete opportunities for recruitment. Ottawa University, Kansas, is also a top contender, offering up to 12 NAIA scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are active recruiters, with the latter offering NAIA scholarships. While UT Arlington is developing its program, it is not yet offering scholarships. For Elk River athletes, attending summer camps and showcases will be crucial in getting noticed by these programs. The path to a flag football scholarship is clear: focus on developing skills, networking, and staying informed about recruiting opportunities.
