FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Quarterback Quick Release Drill
The Quick Release Drill is a crucial exercise for quarterbacks to develop a consistent and accurate throwing motion. At Hazelwood Central Hawks, we're implementing this drill to prepare our QBs for the upcoming season. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 2-minute rest in between sets. Players will stand 10 yards away from a target, focusing on a specific throwing lane. On the coach's signal, they'll drop back 5 yards, plant their back foot, and release the ball within 2 seconds. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the target,' 'plant and fire,' and 'release at the peak of the plant.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the QB's ability to quickly read defenses and deliver the ball to their receivers. By incorporating this drill into your practice routine, you'll see a significant improvement in your QB's accuracy and efficiency.
