Unlock Deep Ball Potential with the 'Flash' Drill
This summer, wide receivers at top programs like Christian Brothers College Cadets, St. Louis Priory, De Smet Jesuit, Rockhurst Hawklets, and Parkway Central Patriots are putting in the work to take their deep ball game to the next level. The 'Flash' drill is a game-changer. Set up two cones 20 yards apart, with a third cone 10 yards beyond the second. Start with the receiver at the first cone, then have them sprint to the second cone, planting their outside foot and turning their body to the quarterback. From there, they'll flash to the third cone, using their inside foot to drive and their outside arm to shield. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. This drill translates to game performance by improving the receiver's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate downfield, creating separation from defenders.
