Summer Sprints: A Speed Drill for Wide Receivers

๐Ÿ“ Lee's Summit West TitansยทTuesday, July 21, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the summer heat intensifies, wide receivers at top programs like Lee's Summit West Titans, Blue Springs Wildcats, Park Hill Panthers, Liberty North Eagles, Platte County Bruins, and Raytown South Cardinals are putting in the work to improve their speed and agility. One effective drill to add to their training regimen is the 'Ladder Carioca Drill'. Set up a ladder with 5-6 rungs and have the receiver perform a carioca drill (alternating feet in and out of the ladder) for 3 sets of 20 reps. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low'. This drill translates to game performance by improving a receiver's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate out of cuts, making them a more elusive and effective target for their quarterback.
