The Cadets, a Class 5 program from St. Louis, finished 9-3 last season and advanced to the second round of the Missouri state playoffs. Thompson's hiring is seen as a key move ahead of the August camp, as the Cadets look to improve their run game and protect quarterback Tyler Jackson. Thompson, a St. Louis native, has experience coaching at the high school and collegiate levels, including a stint as an assistant at Southeast Missouri State University.
