The De Smet Spartans, a Class 5 program from St. Louis, officially broke ground on a $3 million facility upgrade Friday. The project, set to be completed by the start of the season, will feature a new weight room, locker rooms and training facilities. Spartans coach Ross Moore says the upgrade will give the team a competitive edge in the competitive Missouri high school football landscape. The Spartans have been rebuilding after a 2-7 season in 2024, but Moore believes the new facilities will help attract top recruits and give the team a chance to contend for a state title. The Spartans will be one of the top programs to watch in Class 5 this season, and the new facilities will be a major factor in their success.
