Quarterback Readiness: The 'Rapid Release' Drill for 6A QBs
As the 6A season approaches, Madison Central Jaguars quarterbacks need to be prepared for the high-intensity pressure of the game. The 'Rapid Release' drill is designed to improve their quick decision-making and accuracy under duress. Set up three stations: 1) a stationary target 5 yards away, 2) a moving target 10 yards away, and 3) a defender simulating a pass rush. Players will complete 3 sets of 10 reps at each station. Coaching cues include: 'Release the ball as soon as you feel pressure,' and 'Follow through with your throwing motion.' This drill translates to game performance by replicating the fast-paced, high-pressure situations that QBs will face. By mastering the 'Rapid Release,' Jaguars QBs will be better equipped to make split-second decisions and deliver accurate passes.
