Starkville, MS - Tyler Davis, a Class of 2025 cornerback for the Starkville Yellow Jackets, has committed to the University of Houston. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete chose the Cougars over offers from several other Power Five programs. Davis cited the Cougars' aggressive defensive scheme as a key factor in his decision, noting that it aligns with his playing style. He also expressed excitement about the opportunity to contribute immediately, given the Cougars' depth chart at cornerback. Additionally, Davis praised the University of Houston's academic programs, particularly the business school, which he plans to pursue. Davis previously held offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State, but ultimately chose the Cougars after a summer camp visit. He is expected to sign with Houston in the fall.
