Flag Football Recruiting: UIL Pilot District Expansion Opens New Scholarship Pathways for Great Falls Bison

The University Interscholastic League's (UIL) pilot district expansion of girls flag football has created new scholarship opportunities for top talent. The Great Falls Bison, a Class AA powerhouse, are now in a position to capitalize on these emerging pathways. With the NCAA's addition of women's flag football to its Emerging Sports for Women program in January 2026, colleges are taking notice. The University of Nebraska, the only Power 4 school with a fully funded D1 varsity program, offers a clear route for top performers. Meanwhile, NAIA programs like Ottawa University (KS), Keiser University (FL) and Midland University (NE) provide active scholarships. UT Arlington's developing D1 program in Texas also presents possibilities. Athletes must excel in the UIL pilot district to attract the attention of these programs.
