Tight End Domination: Sentinel Spartans' Summer Drill
At the Missoula Sentinel Spartans, our tight end coach has developed a drill to build strength, agility, and route-running skills. The 'TE Triangle' drill involves three stations: a 10-yard cone course, a 5-yard box, and a 3-yard target. Players start at the cone course, performing 3 sets of 10 reps of shuttle runs. Next, they move to the 5-yard box, where they perform 3 sets of 10 reps of lateral shuffles. Finally, they finish at the 3-yard target, where they attempt to catch passes from a quarterback while moving at full speed. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'eyes on the target.' This drill translates to game performance by improving speed, agility, and spatial awareness, allowing our TEs to create separation and make plays in traffic.
