What Coaches Want to See on a Junior Day Visit

๐Ÿ“ Kalispell Glacier WolfpackยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As a junior, you're likely to receive invitations to junior day visits from college coaches. These events are a great opportunity to showcase your skills and get noticed by recruiters. But what exactly do coaches look for during these visits? According to MHSA coaches, they want to see players who are physically and mentally prepared. This means arriving early, being fully hydrated, and being ready to go at a moment's notice. Coaches also look for players who can execute fundamental skills, such as proper tackling technique and ball-handling drills. For example, a defensive back might be asked to complete 10 consecutive tackles with proper form in under 5 minutes. If you can demonstrate these skills, you'll make a strong impression on coaches and increase your chances of getting noticed.
