Missoula Sentinel Spartans Promote Assistant Coach to Coordinator Role
Missoula Sentinel Spartans head coach, Mike Shepherd, announced Friday the promotion of assistant coach, Ryan Jenkins, to defensive coordinator. Jenkins, a four-year assistant, has developed key contributors on both sides of the ball, including defensive end, Tyler Brown, a two-time all-state selection. The Spartans, who finished 7-3 in Class AA last season, are looking to build on their recent success. Jenkins' elevation is expected to strengthen the team's recruiting efforts, particularly in the western Montana region. The Spartans will face a tougher schedule this season, with several top-ranked opponents, including Class AA power, Billings West. The team's summer camp, set to begin July 25, will be crucial in preparing for the upcoming season.
