FridayNightPulse: Sentinel Spartans Linebacker Drill
At the Missoula Sentinel Spartans, our linebackers are working on a key drill to improve their speed, agility, and reaction time. The 'Ladder Weave' drill involves setting up a ladder on the field, with the linebackers wearing their pads and helmets. They start in a 3-point stance, then quickly move through the ladder, weaving in and out of the rungs. We're aiming for 3 sets of 15 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the linebackers' ability to quickly close gaps and change direction on the field. It also helps them develop the muscle memory needed to react to different plays and scenarios. By incorporating this drill into their pre-season training, the Spartans' linebackers will be better equipped to handle the physical demands of the upcoming season.
