Darius Thomas Commits to SMU
Missoula Sentinel Spartans linebacker Darius Thomas has committed to play for the SMU Mustangs. The Class of 2027 prospect chose SMU over other Division I offers. Thomas cited the Mustangs' 3-4 defensive scheme as a key factor in his decision, noting it aligns with his strengths as a linebacker. He also praised the depth chart opportunity at SMU, where he expects to compete for a starting position immediately. Additionally, Thomas was drawn to the university's strong academic program, which he believes will prepare him for life after football. Thomas had previously committed to the University of Montana, but decommitted in April to explore other options. He is expected to enroll at SMU in the fall of 2027 and begin his high school career with the Spartans this season.
