Grimsley Whirlies Break Ground on $1M Facility Upgrade

๐Ÿ“ Grimsley WhirliesยทFriday, July 3, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Grimsley Whirlies football program in Greensboro, North Carolina, has broken ground on a $1 million facility upgrade ahead of the 2026 season. The Whirlies, a 4A program, finished last season with a 6-6 record and a first-round playoff loss. The upgrade includes a new weight room, locker room and field turf. The project is expected to boost recruiting efforts and give the team a competitive edge in the Piedmont Triad 4A conference. Whirlies head coach, Mike Gambill, says the new facilities will help attract top talent and improve team cohesion. The Whirlies are looking to build on last season's momentum and make a deep playoff run in 2026.
