What Coaches Look for on a Junior Day Visit

๐Ÿ“ Mallard Creek MavericksยทSaturday, July 11, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As a Class of 2025 cornerback prospect, you're likely to be invited to a junior day visit at your top college programs. But what can you do to make a lasting impression on the coaches? First, be prepared to demonstrate your skills in a live setting. This means arriving early to warm up and getting in extra reps during drills. Coaches want to see how you handle pressure and competition. For example, if you're asked to cover a speedy receiver, aim to stay within 5 yards of them for 3 consecutive plays. This shows you can keep up with the pace of the game and make adjustments on the fly. Additionally, be sure to ask thoughtful questions and engage with the coaching staff. This demonstrates your interest in the program and your willingness to learn.
