Mallard Creek Mavericks Break Ground on $2M Facility Upgrade

The Mallard Creek Mavericks, a 4A powerhouse from Charlotte, have officially broken ground on a $2 million facility upgrade. The program, which has seen recent success with a 10-2 record in 2024, aims to improve its competitiveness in the highly competitive Southwestern 4A Conference. The upgrade will include state-of-the-art locker rooms, a new weight room, and a renovated practice field. Mavericks coach, Mike Johnson, believes the new facilities will give his team a significant recruiting edge, allowing him to attract top talent from across the state. The facility upgrade is expected to be completed before the start of the 2026 season, giving the Mavericks a head start on their competition.
