The Mallard Creek Mavericks, a 4A powerhouse from Charlotte, are taking a major step forward with the groundbreaking of a $2 million facility upgrade. The team has been a consistent force in NCHSAA 4A, boasting a 25-5 record over the past two seasons. The new facility will feature state-of-the-art weight rooms, locker rooms and training areas, giving the Mavericks a significant recruiting edge. "This upgrade is a game-changer for our program," said Head Coach Mike Johnson. "We'll be able to attract top talent from the region and compete at an even higher level." The facility upgrade is expected to be completed by the start of the season, giving the Mavericks a strong foundation for success in 2026.
