In preparation for the upcoming season, AAA programs like Fargo Shanley Deacons can implement the 'Shuttle-Box' drill to enhance S players' speed, agility, and reaction time. This drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: (1) 5-yard shuttle run through a box, (2) 180-degree pivot to the opposite side, and (3) 5-yard sprint to the finish line. Coaching cues include: 'Quick feet, explosive acceleration,' and 'Change direction on the pivot.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the rapid changes of direction and speed required in man-to-man coverage. By mastering the 'Shuttle-Box' drill, S players will improve their ability to stay with receivers and make plays on the ball.
