Packers' Power Punch: Building Strength in the Trenches
The West Fargo Packers' offensive line is built on strength, agility, and technique. To take their game to the next level, the Packers will be focusing on a specific drill this summer: the 'Medicine Ball Slam.' This exercise targets the upper body, particularly the shoulders and chest, while also engaging the core. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players will start in a standing position, holding a medicine ball at chest level. They'll then explosively slam the ball to the ground, immediately following up with a rapid-fire series of 5 reps. Coaching cues include 'slam it like you mean it' and 'keep your core tight.' This drill translates to game performance by increasing the OL's ability to generate power and drive in the trenches.
