Mandan Braves Girls Flag Football Team Prepares for NDHSAA Pilot District Expansion
The Mandan Braves girls flag football team is gearing up for the NDHSAA pilot district expansion, which will open new scholarship pathways for Texas athletes. Coaches and athletes are advised to research verified scholarship programs at institutions such as the University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will offer Power 4 status in its inaugural 2028 season. Ottawa University, Kansas, is a national powerhouse with up to 12 scholarships available. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are actively recruiting athletes. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is not yet offering scholarships. Athletes from the Mandan Braves can take concrete actions by reaching out to these schools, creating highlight tapes, and attending summer camps to increase their chances of securing a scholarship.
