Demons' WRs Get Ready for Season with 'Route Runner' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Bismarck DemonsยทTuesday, July 21, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At the Bismarck Demons' summer football camp, wide receivers are putting in extra work to improve their route-running skills with the 'Route Runner' drill. This high-intensity workout is designed to simulate game-like situations and help players develop the quickness and agility needed to separate from defenders. The drill consists of 3 sets of 5 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. Players start at the line of scrimmage, then sprint 10 yards downfield before making a sharp cut to the left or right, depending on the route called. Coaching cues emphasize staying low and balanced, using inside foot to cut and outside foot to break. This drill translates to game performance by improving WRs' ability to create separation and get open quickly, making them a more effective threat in the Demons' passing attack.
