Sprint Technique Drills for AA Safety Prospects

๐Ÿ“ Mandan BravesยทThursday, July 30, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the summer heats up, AA programs like Mandan Braves are fine-tuning their skills in preparation for the upcoming season. For Safety prospects, mastering the fundamentals of sprint technique is crucial for success on the field. One drill to focus on is the 'Resistance Band Acceleration Drill'. Set up three stations with resistance bands of varying resistance levels. Have the Safety prospect start at the 5-yard line, then sprint to the 10-yard line while wearing the resistance band. Focus on proper foot strike, knee drive, and hip extension. Complete 3 sets of 5 reps at each station, resting for 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving acceleration, agility, and overall speed. It also helps Safety prospects develop the strength and power needed to make tackles and cover receivers.
