Lincoln East TE Tyler Johnson Commits to Iowa State
Lincoln East TE Tyler Johnson has committed to play for the Iowa State Cyclones, the 6-4, 225-pound senior announced Friday. Johnson, a member of the Class of 2025, chose the Cyclones over Nebraska, citing the team's pro-style offense and his ability to contribute immediately as a tight end. With the departure of key tight ends from last season's roster, Johnson sees a clear path to playing time in Ames. Iowa State's academic program also played a role in Johnson's decision, as he aims to pursue a degree in business administration. Johnson had previously committed to the University of Nebraska in 2023, but decommitted after the Cornhuskers' coaching change. Johnson is expected to be a key target for the Cyclones in the 2025 recruiting class.
