FridayNightPulse: LB Drill for A-Programs
Millard South Patriots linebackers are gearing up for a dominant season. To improve their speed and agility, Coach Thompson has implemented a crucial drill: the 'Cone Weave Shuttle'. This drill targets quick changes of direction, essential for LBs in today's fast-paced game. To run the drill: Set up 5 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. LBs start at one end, weaving through the cones while maintaining a high level of intensity. After completing the weave, they immediately shuttle back to the starting point. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues: 'Keep your head up, eyes forward', 'Quick feet, quick hands', and 'Drive through the cone, don't just touch it'. This drill translates to game performance by improving LBs' ability to read and react to plays in tight spaces. By mastering the Cone Weave Shuttle, Millard South Patriots' LBs will be ready to take on the competition this season.
