Explosive RB Power: Manchester Central's Pro-Style 3-Step Drill
This summer, Manchester Central's RB coach is taking his Little Green backs to the next level with a 3-step drill that builds explosive power and acceleration. The drill consists of three 3-rep sets, with 2 minutes of rest in between. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explosively drive through their back foot, followed by a 2-foot step and a final 1-foot step. Coaching cues include 'Drive, Drive, Drive' and 'Finish with the Front Foot.' This drill translates to game performance by improving RBs' ability to quickly change direction and accelerate through holes. It also helps build strength and power in the legs, essential for breaking tackles and making big plays. By incorporating this drill into their summer training, Manchester Central's RBs will be ready to dominate on the gridiron come fall.
