Summer Sprints: Bedford Bulldogs' Speed Drills for Wide Receivers

๐Ÿ“ Bedford BulldogsยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This week, the Bedford Bulldogs' coaching staff is focusing on speed and agility training for their Division I wide receivers. One key drill is the 'L-Cone Weave': Set up three cones in an L-shape, with the player starting at the top of the L. On the whistle, they must weave through the cones, focusing on quick footwork and changing direction. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'inside foot first' and 'keep your eyes up.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the receiver's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate away from defenders. It also enhances their spatial awareness and ability to read the field.
