FridayNightPulse: Tight End Training Tip

๐Ÿ“ Manchester Central Little GreenยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Manchester Central Little Green Tight End Coach, John Smith, shares a drill to improve TE route running and separation. The 'Route Box Drill' involves setting up cones in a 10x10 foot grid, with 4 cones forming a square and 4 additional cones forming a smaller square inside. Players start at the center cone, then run a series of routes (in, out, post, and deep) to each corner of the grid, focusing on quick releases and sharp cuts. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'square your feet to the target' and 'release at the break point.' This drill translates to game performance by improving TE's ability to quickly change direction and separate from defenders in tight spaces.
