FridayNightPulse: 'Quick Decision' Drill for Quarterbacks
As the summer heat intensifies, quarterback hopefuls at top Div I programs like Manchester Central Little Green are honing their skills with a crucial drill that translates to game-day performance: the 'Quick Decision' drill. This exercise focuses on rapid processing and accurate decision-making under pressure. To run the drill: Set up two cones 5 yards apart, with a third cone 10 yards away. Quarterbacks start at the first cone, receive a snap, and must quickly scan the field, identifying a target. They then throw to the third cone, mimicking a deep pass. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'See it, throw it' and 'Fast feet, fast decision.' This drill enhances a quarterback's ability to read defenses and deliver accurate passes, a vital skill for success in the NHIAA playoffs.
