Astros' Speed Training: Explosive Sprints for S Players
Pinkerton Academy's S players, get ready to take your game to the next level with our explosive sprint drill. This high-intensity workout will improve your acceleration and top-end speed, giving you a competitive edge on the field. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10-15 yard sprints, with a 30-second rest period between sets. Focus on exploding out of the gate, keeping your head down, and driving your legs through the finish. Coaching cues include 'quick feet,' 'fast turnover,' and 'finish strong.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing you to quickly change direction and accelerate to the ball. To add an extra challenge, incorporate a 'reactive' element by having a coach or teammate call out a color or signal, and respond with a sprint. This will simulate the quick decisions you'll make on the field.
