FridayNightPulse: WR Drill for Nashua South Panthers
Nashua South Panthers WRs, get ready to take your route-running to the next level with this intense drill. The 'Route Box' drill focuses on quick changes of direction and precise footwork. Set up 5x5 yard boxes with different colored tape or cones to represent different routes. Divide your team into pairs, with one player as the WR and the other as the DB. The WR will start at the line of scrimmage and sprint to the first box, changing direction to run a specific route (e.g. in, out, or post). The DB will react and try to stay with the WR. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps, switching roles after each set. Coaching cue: 'Quick feet, quick hands!' This drill translates to game performance by improving the WR's ability to quickly change direction and create separation from defenders.
