Pre-Season QB Prep: Exeter Blue Hawks' Target Passing Drill
As the Exeter Blue Hawks prepare for the upcoming season, quarterback coach, John Smith, emphasizes the importance of accuracy and decision-making. To hone these skills, the team will be running the Target Passing Drill. This drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest in between sets. Players will line up 10 yards from a target, which is set at 5 yards deep. The coach will call out a specific target (e.g. 'left hash') and the QB must throw the ball to the designated spot. Coaching cues include 'step into the throw' and 'follow through with your eyes.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the QB's ability to read defenses and make accurate throws under pressure. By mastering the Target Passing Drill, the Blue Hawks' QBs will be better equipped to take on the challenges of Div II competition.
