DeShawn Allen Commits to Arkansas
Exeter Blue Hawks linebacker DeShawn Allen has committed to play for the University of Arkansas, the school announced Thursday. The Class of 2026 standout selected the Razorbacks over other Power Five offers, citing the team's 3-4 defensive scheme as a key factor in his decision. Allen believes he will fit in seamlessly alongside Arkansas' experienced linebackers, and the Razorbacks' depth chart appears to have a clear path for him to contribute immediately. Additionally, Allen was drawn to the university's strong academic program, which aligns with his academic goals. Allen had previously committed to another program but reopened his recruitment in April, ultimately choosing the Razorbacks. He is expected to enroll at Arkansas in January 2027 and participate in spring practice. As a senior, Allen recorded 120 tackles, 10 sacks, and 2 interceptions, earning All-State honors in Division II.
